NEW PRESIDENT FOR NSWROA

It was with great reluctance that the Committee of the New South Wales Racehorse Owners Association (NSWROA) accepted the resignation of Mr Stephen van Eyk as President of the Association, due to the current economic climate and his work commitments in the financial field.

Mr Ray McDowell, the Vice President of the Association was unanimously elected to “take the reins of NSWROA”.

Mr McDowell, a respected and successful racehorse owner for over 25 years, is probably best known for his ownership of the wonderful galloper Intergaze.

Mr McDowell has served on the NSWROA Committee since 2005 and was the Association’s representative on the Racing Industry Participants Advisory Committee (RIPAC) at Racing NSW.

In accepting the position Mr McDowell said “I am honoured to have been chosen by the Committee to undertake this challenging role. I thank my predecessor Stephen van Eyk for the tremendous service he has given the Association and I look forward to working with all participants in the industry”.
