Grafton CEO Passes Away Wednesday, 2 April 2008: Dynamic young racing administrator Dale Thompson passed away over night after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Lisa and two children Jacob and Zoe. Aged 37, Thompson began his career in racing administration with the Wyong Race Club in the early 1990's where he was tutored by the late John Varley. Thompson has been at the helm of the Clarence River Jockey Club at Grafton for almost ten years. Under his guidance the Club has won numerous awards as the leading TAB Club in NSW and for it's famous July Racing Carnival. Funeral details are yet to be announced.
