The Autumn Racing Carnival of 2007 celebrates the 26th Annual Doncaster Calcutta Luncheon In aid of the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, Royal Hospital for Women Randwick 6th April 2007 (12.00pm – 5.00pm) - Grand Ballroom Star City Hotel & Casino Celebrate, Win Big and Enjoy the anticipation of the Australian Jockey Club Doncaster at Sydney’s largest Cash Calcutta event! The Luncheon will be held at Star City Hotel & Casino on Good Friday the 6th April and brings with it much of the fashion and flare that the Autumn Carnival is renowned for. The event is now very much a stylish and traditional part of Sydney racing. The Calcutta originated in 1981 and this year celebrates its 26th Anniversary. The Doncaster Calcutta is amongst the largest in Australia with last year’s prize pool reaching over $30,000. Tickets are $140.00 per person and includes the famous Cash Calcutta presented by media and racing personalities Glenn Munsie and Dez Coppins (NZ) lunchtime comic Brian Doyle, on-stage jockey interviews, Millinary and fashion displays major prize draws and phantom call. Being Good Friday the menu will consist of a mixed seafood and gourmet buffet with extensive deserts, beer, wine and soft drink’s. Private entertainment will follow with special guests performing live until late in the Casino’s Premium Astral Bar. The event is supported by many representatives of the horse racing industry; the Sydney Bookmaking fraternity headed by Henry Noonan Rails Bookmaker as well as Gloaming Club Australia. There is expected to be approximately four hundred of Sydney’s biggest gamblers, Bookmakers and Racehorse Owners as well as racing celebrities and selected high limit players from the Star City Casino Endeavour room in attendance on the day.
